Support Global Mission Work During Lent

Lent is our solemn observance commemorating the forty days Jesus spent fasting in the desert and enduring temptation by Satan. We observe this season for forty days (sans Sundays), beginning with Ash Wednesday which lands on February 14th this year, through Holy Saturday, leading up to Easter Sunday. It is a time of repentance, self-examination, reflection and preparation for the coming of Easter. It can also be a meaningful time to grow spiritually in our relationship with God the Father.

A new year always brings that fresh perspective of possibility.  People use different descriptions: a new start, a fresh perspective, a new beginning, or a clean slate. All of which point to the joy of looking forward with hope. Looking forward with hope is a wonderful way to describe what it means to live as a baptized child of God. That hope is for today, not just for the future. In fact, all the above descriptors could just as easily

Into The Future

So much to be thankful for! God’s faithfulness to Zion is abundant and we are seeing it in concrete ways all over this place. Call Committee Update

As I write, outside there are a lot of changes happening.  The temps are cooling, the trees are displaying vibrant shades of red, yellow, and orange and my lawn is finally green from all of the rain.  Changes are also happening at Zion.  Our Call Committee has spent the summer preparing documents for the Synod describing our church, and our community as well as interviewing and evaluating candidates for Zion’s Associate Pastor. I am happy to announce they have unanimously
