Spring is here, and summer is approaching quickly. I for one am happy to put the cold and dark days of winter behind. But with the approach of summer and all the events and activities it brings, there is one seasonal event we on the Stewardship Committee could do without. Have you heard of the “Summer Slump”? Historically, the summer months result in lower Sunday attendances; and with that can come a reduction in summer offerings.
While the summer months may result in lower attendance, church activities and expenses continue. Our goal on the Stewardship Committee is to promote consistency in our giving.
Zion utilizes a few tools to help promote consistency in our giving to the church. The first tool is offering envelopes. These provide helpful reminders to us all of our commitment to Zion. The second tool available is electronic giving. For those who elect to use electronic giving, it ensures that our offerings are given in a timely, consistent manner; even during summer when trips and activities may prevent us from being present. If you are interested in learning more about electronic giving or need to request offering envelopes, please stop by the information desk and we’ll be sure to get the proper information to you.
