Summer Stretch

Summer Stretch is a service and recreational program, and we are one of more than 100 churches in the Greater Twin Cities Area who participate in this ministry.

Zion’s youth, grades 4-8, will do service work in the morning and attend a recreational event in the afternoon, two times a month this summer. Service work this summer included a variety of service projects here at Zion and around the Buffalo community.  In the afternoons, the youth enjoy bowling, swimming and other fun events. 

  • Wednesday, June 21 (8:30 am – 3:30 pm, $10): Lake Ridge Nursing Home/Ice Cream and Games at Zion
  • Wednesday, June 28 (8:30 am – 3:30 pm, $15): Buffalo Food Shelf/Monticello Community Center (swimming, rock climbing, open gym)
  • Wednesday, July 19 (8:30 am – 4:30 pm, $20): Feed My Starving Children/Bunker Beach Water Park
  • Wednesday, July 26 (8:30 am – 3:30 pm, $10): Buffalo Parks Clean Up/Bowling at Huikkos
  • Wednesday, August 2 (8:30 am – 3:30 pm, $10): Bag Ladies & 363 Sandwich Making/Campfire at Zion
  • Wednesday, August 9 (8 am – 4:30 pm, $20): Value Village Thrift Store/Zero Gravity
  • Thursday, August 17 (9:30 am – 4:30 pm, $40): Twins Game! (Must attend at least 4 other Summer Stretch Wednesdays and sign up by May 15 to attend the Twins Game)

Zion’s youth, grades 4-8, will do service work in the morning and attend a recreational event in the afternoon, two times a month this summer. Service work this summer included a variety of service projects here at Zion and around the Buffalo community.  In the afternoons, the youth enjoy bowling, swimming and other fun events. 

Dates are Wednesdays June 21 & 28, July 19 & 26, August 2 & 9, with an end of Summer Celebration on Thursday, August 17. Specific activities and costs are listed on the signup page. This summer our last recreational event will be a Twins Game. (sign up by May 15 to ensure your spot at the Twins Game).
