There is a place for all at Zion. Everyone matters. No Exceptions.

Welcome to Zion

Welcome!

Our welcome begins with the affirmation that each person is a child of God by grace. God’s love embraces the wide diversity of people in our community. We are a people with a Christ-centered heart, and our shared identity in Christ is bigger than whatever differences we might bring.

Opportunities for Everyone

Zion Lutheran offers many opportunities to experience God and grow in faith:

  • wonderful worship and music, both traditional and contemporary
  • engaging ministries for children and youth
  • serving others and making a difference in our community
  • spiritual vitality and growth for adults

Trust. Live. Serve.

God’s grace in Jesus Christ is worth the journey of our whole life. There is always more to discover about God. Wherever you are on the journey of life, there is a place for you at Zion. We discover more about God and life when we journey together with others. We come together as a people so that we might Trust, Live, and Serve together.

Visit Us This Sunday

What to Wear

When you visit Zion on a Sunday morning, there’s no need to worry about what you should wear. Wear whatever makes you comfortable. You’ll see people in the pews dressed in all styles—from shorts to jeans to khakis to business suits in all worship services at Zion.

When you Arrive

  • When you come into the Church building on a Sunday morning, someone will greet you just outside and/or just inside the outer door.
  • Stop by the information desk in the lobby/narthex if you have any questions, it is usually staffed before and after each Sunday service.
  • A printed order of service is available at the door to the worship space.
  • If you need a large print copy of the order of service or a hearing device, please ask an usher.

During the Service

  • Each service will normally include singing, Bible reading(s), some prayers, and an easy to listen to sermon or message.
  • Near the beginning, the pastor will invite you to greet the people sitting around you, but no one will single you out as a visitor.
  • We don’t expect visitors to support the congregation financially, so feel free to pass the offering plate on when it comes down your row. Many members of the congregation contribute directly through their bank accounts so you won’t be the only one passing it on.
  • Coffee is served in and just outside Fellowship Hall after each indoor worship service.

Children in Worship

  • If you have children, they are welcome to sit with you in worship.
  • Activity sheets and small toys are available at a station near the Sanctuary.
  • A children’s message is included in each worship service.
  • During the school year, children aged 3 to 6th grade are invited to Sunday School at 10:30. Sunday school students will begin the hour in worship and dismiss to Sunday school after the children’s message.
  • The Sunday School schedule does include some scheduled Sanctuary Sundays when children attend the entire worship service with their families.

Holy Communion

All Christians instructed in its meaning are invited to participate in communion. We celebrate holy communion at God’s table so whether you are a visitor or a member, you are welcome at the table.
