Parker has been a member of Zion his whole life. His parents are Jason and Julie, and he has a brother, Quincy, and a sister, Ella.
Parker participates in a variety of youth ministry programs at Zion.
I like all of the youth and the senior high youth program here at Zion. My fondest memory of church would be Graceland and mission trips with friends. I enjoy having something to do on Wednesday nights and to be able to hang out with friends, and go on mission trips with them. If you are debating on coming to Graceland at any point, JUST COME! Everyone there is nice and will just make you feel at home, and it is fun!
His favorite youth event has been the ELCA youth gathering trip in July of 2015.
It was fun to get to be around 30,000 other youth that chose to travel to Detroit and serve and have fun.
Parker has also served as a volunteer in Zion’s programs for younger children.
I have helped out with teaching Sunday school and have helped out whenever they needed help with VBS. I have been able to just randomly pop in and help out with the children’s ministries when they need a little extra helping hand.
Although Zion is Parker’s home church, he attends several Buffalo youth groups, and has been inspired by those communities.
From FCA (the ecumenical Fellowship of Christian Athletes) to Graceland (at Zion) to Chill Outs at Buffalo Covenant Church … they are all just fun. A friend from FCA was always just so willing to openly talk about his faith with anyone that asked him. I thought that was pretty cool!
In the future, Parker would like to see Zion offer a variety of locations for mission trips, and more opportunities for participants to fundraise.
