Voyage of a Lifetime: Lent 2010
Lent begins on February 17
Lent is a time of giving: giving up a habit or a favorite thing; giving time for midweek worship and devotions; giving to Zion’s mission funds. It is also a time to center our thoughts on the Lenten theme of preparing for the journey into the future.
These forty days are our time to walk the journey with Christ to the cross, ending when we reach the triumphant Easter day. The forty days offer the time to come to Zion for midweek worship, be intentional about devotions at home, and participate in special events for the season.

Mission Projects
God desires to reach people who do not know him through people like us at Zion. Showing others in our community our faith by what we do is vital to helping others see God for who He really is. As it says in James 2:18, “You say the way to God is by faith alone, plus nothing: well, I say that good works are important too, for without good works you can’t prove whether you have faith or not.”Buffalo Food Shelf
Zion’s Social Ministry committee is coordinating Easter Baskets to be distributed to needy families in our community through the Buffalo Food Shelf. Bring listed food items to Zion by March 21 and/or help prepare or distribute baskets on March 30.Change for Children
Zion’s Sunday school children will be collecting change to purchase toiletries, and assist with gas, parking, & meals for families of patients at Children’s Minneapolis who have not had time to plan for an extended time away from home.
