We know how good it feels to come into a room and get a warm “Hello!” from someone who’s already settled in. It’s easier to step into the action when you’ve been welcomed. It’s easier to feel settled yourself when someone can lead you to things that you’ll need during your stay. It’s easier to be involved when you feel like someone cares about you.
We’d like you to be one of those welcoming workers: someone who knows Zion as home and is willing to welcome others into the building on Sunday mornings. Because of you, someone might step into the action. Because of you, someone can say “Zion is a friendly place. I felt welcomed as soon as I came into the building.” Because of you, someone might become interested and involved in Zion’s ministry.
We all appreciate seeing the similes of Wes Mahlberg and his team, hearing their “Good Morning!” and feeling what it’s like to have the door opened for us. This is your chance to be a part of a Sunday Welcome Crew, continuing that welcome feeling into the Zion building. You are invited to be a greeter, usher or coffee host. Each Welcome Crew helps one Sunday each month. If you think there might be a Sunday when you’d be away, don’t worry. The Welcome Crews are designed to accommodate that. If you want to spend time with family on Sunday mornings, this is a great way for families to serve together. You can choose volunteering options that vary from 20 minutes to 1 hour, up to even four hours. An hour or so per month could make a big difference to the people who enter Zion’s doors on Sunday.
If you are putting plans together for the fall, consider adding Sunday Welcome Crew volunteering to some of your Sundays. Contact Sherilyn (Sherilyn@ZionBuffalo.org/763.682.1245 ext. 108) if you’d like more info.
