Bev was born and raised in Roseau, MN, the oldest of three girls and one boy. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and recalls Pastor A. C. Rykken of Moe Lutheran Church as a great influence. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 118:24:
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
It brings light to gloomy rainy days.
Bev has been a member of Zion since 1990.
My son-in-law was doing some volunteering at Zion and told us about Pastor Ed and Pastor John.
Over the years, Bev has volunteered with Harvest of Hands, Vacation Bible School, the Lutefisk Supper, serving at funerals, on the Altar Guild and Church Council, as a Sunday school superintendent and teacher, and coordinated Sunday morning greeters and Red Cross blood drives. She has also participated in Prayer Sisters, circles, and many Bible studies.
What Bev loves most about Zion is the people and the friendships she has made.
She is currently serving on the Women’s Ministry Planning Team, and sees women’s ministry as an important way for women to get to know one another at Zion.
I enjoy helping to bring our ministries to the community, and meeting people.
Beyond Zion, Bev is involved with Community Bible Study (CBS), an inter-denominational, in-depth Bible study organized by books of the Bible.
Every morning I thank God for waking us all up, and [ask Him] to keep guard during the day. I also ask God what plans he has for me this day. Every evening I ask God to care for my families (mine, church, prayer sisters, and CBS).
Bev has been married to Frank for 58 years, and they have three daughters and one son. She worked as a transportation manager for over-the-road trucking companies. She enjoys reading, word find puzzles, fishing, and visiting National Parks.
