Trunk or Treat will be held from 2-4pm. All are welcome to this fun, family outdoor event! Come anytime between 2-4pm to go trick or treating from trunk to trunk in the parking lot.
Lots of volunteers are needed to make this event a success and we'd love to have you join us! If you're interested in participating but don't have an idea for a trunk ... we can help!
Candy donations can be brought to the collection bin by the church office October 1-22. Volunteers are needed to host trunks, direct traffic, refill candy bowls, count attendees, and help with set-up and clean up on the event day!

We are excited to announce the upcoming Affirmation of Baptism to be held on Sunday, October 26, at 2pm at Zion. We couldn’t be more proud of Zion’s confirmation students! They have completed the three-year program, all of the requirements set before them and created lifelong connections with their Zion faith family. God is at work in their hearts and we can’t wait to watch them lay claim to the promises of their baptism. We, along with their guides, feel blessed to have walked alongside of them during this part of their faith journey. We invite you to pray for them as they prepare for this awe-inspiring affirmation from God that nothing will ever separate them from the love of God given in Christ Jesus!

Time to clean out your garage, attic, basement???
Harvest of Hands is now accepting items in good condition for the White Elephant sale on November 8. All proceeds benefit the Buffalo Food Shelf and other world hunger organizations. Items can be dropped off at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo October 30 through November 7. (No electronics, bikes, furniture, exercise equipment, or clothes please. Clothes can be donated to the Blessing Closet at Zion every Wednesday.)

Zion has the opportunity to help feed our community seniors during the months of June and November. We provide three volunteer drivers each day. Sign up early!
· Meals are picked up at the Buffalo Community Center.
206 Central Avenue (across from the post office).
· It is a great way for families of all ages to serve together.
· GPS on your phone or in your car makes it so easy to follow the route!
· Parking spots are available behind the community center.
· Meals are ready at 11am or a bit earlier.
· Deliveries are being done on weekdays, Monday through Friday.
· Routes usually take 45-60 minutes to complete.

You are invited to attend New Member Connect. This is for both those who are brand new to Zion and those who have been around for many years and just not gotten around to becoming an official member.
Membership is one way of connecting to this faith community. Membership affirms that we are connected together for the mission of this congregation and for the mutual development of our faith in Christ Jesus. “New Member Connect” is an opportunity to spend time in conversation with Zion pastors, staff, and others and to find out more about our mission and vision before committing to membership.
Gather in the Sacred Grounds youth room (take a right when you leave the Sanctuary) between worship service (9:30-10:30am), where we will have a comfortable spot waiting for you! Children are welcome and the nursery is open and staffed during this time as well. Coffee, juice, and light breakfast choices will be provided.

This annual worship service features area pastors, choirs and worship teams, and the harmonious sounds of bell choirs. Attendees come together to reflect on the blessings of the past year, fostering a sense of unity and thankfulness.

Annual Congregational Meeting - Sanctuary

The yearly meeting of the congregation is an opportunity to gather together to give thanks to God for the blessings of the past year and to look forward to our shared mission together for the next year and beyond. This is the business meeting of the congregation where we vote on the spending plan/budget for the coming year, elect members of the council and various other leadership roles. The Council serves as the governing body of the congregation between annual meetings and any special meetings that may be called. Zion generally holds the annual meeting the first or second week of December, but it can take place in either November or December according to the ZLC Constitution. All voting members are encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting.

This year's St. Lucia celebration will begin with a program at 6:30pm in the sanctuary on Monday, December 15. After the program, we will celebrate this year with lots of Scandinavian treats. Santa Lucia and her court will be ready to treat you to fresh homemade Lucia rolls! Eat your early evening meal at home but save room for plenty of krumkake, rosettes, lefse, rice pudding, cookies, and other treats that will be waiting for you in the fellowship hall after the program. You will have the chance to make a woven heart to take home.
To accommodate families, the festivities will be finished by 8pm. There's no charge for the Lucia event. Invite friends and neighbors for a wonderful night of treats, music and stories. Child care will be provided if requested.
