How Do I Choose?

All worship services include the sermon, children’s message, prayers, etc. None of them are ‘better’ than another. The primary factor is your health, risk factors, and comfort level … indoors, in your car, or in your home.

The west side of the sanctuary is marked for alternate pew seating for those who prefer more space. All pews are open in the east side of the north/east side of the sanctuary.

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) currently recommends that everyone, both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated, continue to wear a well-fitted mask in indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission.

Contemporary Worship (Outdoors)North Parking Lot

Grounds
North Parking Lot

The Outdoor/Drive-in Worship service is held in the back / north parking lot, and begins at 10:30am. This worship service will be led from outdoors as often as possible, with audio available for drive-in attendees via FM radio. When the weather is suitable, attendees can also bring a chair or blanket and sit on the lawn.

Please indicate to parking attendants your choice of drive-in or lawn seating so that those worshiping in cars are able to park where they can see the worship service.

For those who choose drive-in:
  • Please park as directed, and stay in your car or sit directly in front of your car
  • Tune your car radio to FM 87.9 (remember to turn your lights off)
  • Participate from within your car by reading and singing along with the bold print.
For those who choose outdoor:
  • Please park as directed, then proceed to the lawn (with your own chairs/blankets).
  • Please keep a safe 6-foot distance between households.
For everyone:
  • Worship bulletins will be available as you enter the parking lot, or can be accessed on a smart device or printed at home
  • Offerings can be placed in the box on the platform or the collection barrel on your way out (or use online offering options available at ZionBuffalo.org/give).

Please check the website (ZionBuffalo.org/worship) or Facebook on Sunday morning for weather-related changes.

Those with any symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc.) or who have been in contact with anyone who is quarantined or awaiting test results should not attend in-person gatherings. If you are at risk of severe illness, the safest option is to stay home and not participate in any group gatherings involving people outside of your immediate household.

On Wednesday, look for a new worship service at 6-6:30pm in the sanctuary. This worship will precede the 7th-8th grade confirmation classes and will be designed with those families in mind, but will be a great time of worship for all ages. If your schedule takes you away from Buffalo on Sunday mornings, consider coming to Zion for a Wednesday meal and staying to worship at 6pm.

Holy Communion at all worship services

Holy Communion is a part of all worship services on the first Sunday of the month.

If you are attending the online worship service, we know you won’t have the exact same elements that we use when we are in worship in the sanctuary. Gather any variety or wine or fruit juice, and any kind of bread product.

If you are receiving communion at any worship service, please complete an electronic communion card.
