How Do I Choose?

All worship services include the sermon, children’s message, prayers, etc. None of them are ‘better’ than another. The primary factor is your health, risk factors, and comfort level … indoors, in your car, or in your home.

All services include music from Zion’s musicians as much as possible in the best way possible. This includes live solos & reflective music during the 9am sanctuary worship, familiar music recorded by Zion’s worship teams and individual musicians in online worship, and a blend of recorded and live music at 10:30am sanctuary/drive-in worship.

Community Festival of Praise & Thanksgiving

The annual Community Festival of Praise and Thanksgiving hosted by Buffalo faith communities will premiere online on Wednesday, November 25, at 7pm. This year, you can invite your neighbors, friends, and family to attend this service of thanks no matter where they are through a virtual online link instead of coming to the Zion sanctuary. While indoor events would be limited in attendance, this online link will allow everyone to watch this Thanksgiving gift of scripture, prayer and music.

Watch on Facebook link will be here    Watch on Youtube    Online Bulletin

This festival that year after year has brought the community together will continue even when we are physically distanced. This community festival is truly a faith-filled experience for all families, prepared by the Buffalo Ministerial Association and musicians from local churches.

Pastors from the Buffalo area churches join to give leadership to this community‑wide time of worship. Vocal ensembles, handbell ensembles, soloists, organ, worship teams, and instrumentalists will contribute anthems of thanks and praise for an online service that can be heard and viewed anytime following its premiere on Thanksgiving Eve.

Each year the Buffalo Ministerial Association receives an offering to benefit those in our community who are in need of a helping hand and a sign of hope. This year, in light of the ongoing pandemic and in order to allow your gifts to get to those who need them quickly, you’re invited to give directly to one or more of the following organizations that we partner with:
  • Buffalo Food Shelf: Give online by PayPal at buffalofoodshelf.com/donate or send your check to: Buffalo Food Shelf, P.O. Box 222, Buffalo, MN 55313.
  • Love INC-Big Woods: Give online by Credit Card at givemn.org/donate/Love-In-The-Name-Of-Christ-Big-Woods or send your check to: Love INC, P.O. Box 368, Buffalo, MN 55313.
  • Salvation Army: Please direct your giving for local Salvation Army relief by making a gift to Love INC (see above) and using the “Dedication” option for online giving or writing “Salvation Army” on the memo line of your check.

Sanctuary WorshipSanctuary

Worship in the sanctuary will include scripture, sermon, prayer and music. Worship will be a ‘no-contact’ experience. Please read all the guidelines on the linked page before signing up.
Because of limited capacity, you’ll need to sign up prior to Sunday to reserve a spot. When spots are filled, people will be encouraged to come to drive-in worship or worship online.

Check in on Sunday
You will be asked to complete a screening survey on Sunday morning that includes one last check for your current health (the same questions as asked when you RSVP), one last reminder of worship guidelines, and a choice of seating preference. Pre-screen online at home or in the parking lot, or with a volunteer at the check-in table.

Worship will be a ‘no-contact’ experience:
  • Doors will be propped or held open for you.
  • Bulletins have been placed in pews several days in advance.
  • The offering plates will be placed at the back of the sanctuary and not passed during worship.
In addition
  • All attendees are required to follow the directions of ushers/greeters/staff and to maintain at least 6 feet distance from those who do not live in the same household.
  • Please wear a face covering as required by Executive Order 20-81 to help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.
Those who are at higher risk for severe illness (age 65 and older, or with underlying medical conditions such as severe asthma, chronic lung disease, serious heart conditions, diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, immunocompromised) are strongly encouraged to stay home and not participate in any group gatherings involving people outside of their immediate household. We encourage you to participate in online worship during this time.

Sanctuary/Drive-In WorshipSanctuary

North Parking Lot

This worship service offers the choice of worshiping indoors (with RSVP), or drive-in with audio available via FM radio.

Please indicate to parking attendants your choice of drive-in or indoor seating. A parking lot usher will direct you to parking.

For those who choose indoor:
  • Please read the guidelines for indoor worship and then RSVP to make checking go as smoothly as possible
  • Park in the front/south lot and enter under the canopy
  • Please plan to wear a face covering inside the building, and keep a safe 6-foot distance between households.
  • Bulletins will be placed in your pew in advance (or you can still use the electronic bulletin)
  • Complete guidelines are available at ZionBuffalo.org/guidelines

Those with any symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc.) or who have been in contact with anyone who is quarantined or awaiting test results should not attend in-person gatherings. If you are at risk of severe illness, the safest option is to stay home and not participate in any group gatherings involving people outside of your immediate household.

For those who choose drive-in:
  • Park in the back / north lot and stay in your car
  • Since this service is audio-only this week, you may park where you like (but reception will still be best if you are within sight of the empty platform)
  • Please tune your car radio to FM 87.9 (and remember to turn your lights off).
  • Participate from within your car by reading and singing along with the bold print.
  • Use the door by the garage to access designated restrooms.
  • Worship bulletins will be available as you enter the parking lot, or can be accessed on a smart device or printed at home
  • MDH guidelines for drive-in events
Google Doc Bulletin will be available here by late Thursday
