I joined the Zion community last month as the new Facilities Coordinator. I wasn’t looking for a job but my mom, Sue Stensrud, continually mentioned the position opening for several months, knowing it would be a good fit for me. I have been blessed by the kindness and grace everyone here has shown me. From the staff to the volunteers and members, I have been welcomed with open arms. I have met so many new people who truly make Zion the wonderful community I can see that it is. Joel and Eldor in the maintenance department and Lyle, who I call the facility specialist, have been invaluable as I learned all the details of my position. They are a great team and I’m privileged to have joined them.
Prior to joining Zion I worked from home for the past 18 years as a Licensed Home Childcare Provider and Realtor®. It was important to my husband, Ryan, and me, when we got married over 22 years ago, that one of us would stay home to raise the kids and take care of the house. We have 5 amazing children who keep us on our toes: Jacob (17), John (16), Jolie (8), Jameson (7) and Jemma (3). They continually surprise us with their own unique talents and personalities. It is so rewarding to watch them grow into the people God wants them to be. My husband has been in the HVAC industry for over 20 years and currently works for a company in Rogers. He and I both grew up in Buffalo and we moved to the outskirts of Monticello after getting married. Outside of work we stay busy taking care of our dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, and of course the children. We love attending their extra-curricular events, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. When I find the time, I love to sit down with a good book or crochet a new blanket.
My favorite hymn is probably To God Be The Glory. It is a beautifully written song reminding us that God deserves all the glory as His love provided our salvation through Jesus’ sacrifice.
I am looking forward to continuing to get to know everyone here at Zion and learning more about this church and community. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in my commencement at Zion.
