He is Waiting for You

Pastor Ted

We truly do live in a great country with the natural resources, the human resources, and the representative government we have. Even in the midst of political divide and threats to peace and safety, we have been so blessed.

You would think that people living in our great country would be satisfied and grateful to God for the deep blessings God has brought to us. But that is not the case. In our country there are a vast number of people who have lost their way, are lonely or are confused about life. In trying to find relief from their pain, some people indulge in all sorts of perversions or avenues of escape that result only in sending them deeper and deeper into their pain and despair.

When Jesus lived on this earth he was very aware of these people. He saw it in the woman at the well, (John 4). She had already had five husbands. She was now living with a sixth to whom she was not married. As he talked with her, she realized that Jesus was someone who listened and understood her pain. She later brought her friends to Jesus saying, “Come and see a man who has told me everything I have ever done.”

Jesus also saw it in the crowd of over 5000 gathered on the hillside overlooking the Sea of Galilee (Matthew 5). They listened closely to his words. So much so that everyone lost track of the time and needed supper. Jesus fed them all with just a few loaves of bread and some fish. They left Jesus fed both physically and spiritually that day.

Are you one who finds something missing in life? Are you one who finds it difficult to be thankful for God’s blessings? Do you find yourself wondering where you’re heading? Or feeling lonely? I want to invite you to pursue a relationship with Jesus Christ. It may seem strange to talk in prayer with someone you cannot see or hear. But when you do, when you seriously seek a relationship with Jesus, a whole new dimension of life opens up. Jesus will become the controlling factor of life rather than the directionless wandering or the emptiness that has been. Once you begin talking with him you will find yourself talking more and more to the one who hears and knows and understands. With Jesus you can share your failures and sins. With him you can share your hopes and dreams. And you will find him bringing new insight and direction to your life.

We live in a great country. It is a country with unparalleled resources. Even with all the resources and blessings, material goods and experiences, this world will never satisfy the hunger we all have to know God. I invite you to discover life the way God intended it to be lived. I invite you to discover a relationship with Jesus Christ. He is waiting for you.
