The Mission Jamaica team is looking forward to serving others in the Montego Bay area in Jamaica, February 17-24, 2018. A team of 32 members from Zion, Word of Peace in Rogers, and St. Henry’s Church in Monticello are going to build a home for a mother and her five children as well as run a medical clinic.
The team includes 5 teachers, 9 health care professionals including 2 doctors and 5 nurses, 3 pastors, 3 business owners, and 2 technology professionals. It consists of 11 males and 21 females. Fifteen members of the team will be experiencing Mission Jamaica for the first time while 17 members are returning to serve, including many who have returned to serve the Jamaican people for several years and look forward to returning to reunite with their friends.
Many families and friends join the team this year: 3 sets of friends traveling together, 4 couples, a mother/son team, 2 teams of mother/daughters, and a mother/father/daughter team! The 32 individuals going to serve in Jamaica should get along well, as every Mission Jamaica 2018 participant loves the outdoors, being active, and travel. A mission trip that connects all three for a group of thirty! Mysterious…..we think not!
What is the group looking forward to in Jamaica?
Participants’ lists are similar-building a home, sunshine, checking off a bucket list item, and wanting to complete a mission trip for years and it is finally time. Others want to connect and see how this work will be woven into the life of our church communities. Many want to feel a ‘sense of purpose’ and make a difference in the lives of others.
The congregation believes God has a purpose for each team member in Jamaica. Thank you for serving those in Jamaica.
Please keep the 2018 Mission Jamaica team and those they will be serving in your prayers.
