Journey to the Cross

Journey to the Cross

Corrected link for Communion Card

Wherever you worship, journey this season to the places that are familiar from the Lenten stories. Gethsemane, the upper room, Golgotha, the courtyard, the trial are locations that we hear about in scripture. They are locations that few of us have visited, but we make our annual pilgrimage to them during the 40 days of Lent. Jesus entered them all and created places of service, strength, love, remembrance and forgiveness.

It’s said that when Jesus enters a place, he never leaves it as he found it. We see that through the stories that will become our weekly Wednesday Lenten worship themes. Each week’s sermon will bring us to one of the familiar locations on our journey to the cross. We will hear about the ways Jesus transforms those places.

We also can know that Jesus is with us in all of the places of our lives. Even the most troubling places of our lives become the most amazing places of God’s grace when Jesus visits them.
