As I reflect on what the Zion to Zambia mission trip meant to me as a Zion lay person, I realize that it was a life changing experience in so many ways. Serving others gave me joy and purpose.
I felt led by God in every step of the preparation, planning, and trip. The team members and I formed a new family of brothers and sisters in faith. My experience was fulfilling in so many ways, particularly spiritual. The mission trip was about giving and getting in return, strengthening and deepening faith, and creating bonds of friendship with my global family in Christ. I now want to plant the seed of service for the next Zion members to go and experience the abundant life of service in Christ. Good stewardship means putting our time, talents, and resources to work to further God’s kingdom here on earth. In doing so we are greatly rewarded.
