Katrina and Kaylie started attending Zion in 2012 and were baptized at Zion in 2013. Their parents, Jay and Krista, had moved to Buffalo in 2005 and wanted their girls to grow up knowing God. They looked for a family oriented church for their growing family, and Zion fit their needs perfectly.
Katrina says the best part of her faith journey so far has been learning more about God, and her favorite Bible verse is John 3:16:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Because God saved us all.
Kaylie’s challenge is staying true to herself every day. One of her favorite events at Zion is SERVE Weekend, and she especially enjoyed making cat blankets to bring to the nearby Crossroads Animal Shelter. She also enjoys donut holes at coffee fellowship after Sunday morning worship with grandparents Kathy & Glenn.
It’s fun to visit with grandma and papa and to talk about the service and our week.
Katrina and Kaylie were among 129 kids who attended Lake Wapogasset Lutheran Bible Camp (Camp Wapo) with Zion in July.
Katrina wanted to go to Bible Camp to learn more about God. She enjoyed everything, especially swimming.
I thought it would be really fun and it was! It’s crazy, cause everyone is crazy and happy.
Kaylie enjoyed everything about Camp Wapo, except leaving.
Wapo is the best! It’s fun to meet more people and share in the same faith as you, and to have fun, play games and sing campfire songs.
For their parents, Zion’s Children and Family Ministries vision to “Know God’s love. Invite others. Do like Jesus. Strengthen families.” means they know the girls are learning that they are loved and made in God’s image. Their hope for Zion’s future is that CFM ministry stays strong and keeps growing.
