Being a member of Zion for almost 17 years I think it is safe to say it’s like a second home to me. I have always felt welcome and there have been many opportunities for me to be involved in the church.
Those opportunities started in Sunday School. I was a member of the SONshine Choir, Ring 4th, Joy Choir and then Confirmation. Being involved in these groups gave me more opportunities to get to know classmates and grow in my faith. I got to go on the Middle School canoe trip, snow tubing, summer camps and Planet Wisdom. After being confirmed I joined Graceland and went on my first Mission trip where I had a great time helping others, making great friends and developing a stronger relationship with God. It was such a great experience that I have gone every year since the summer of 8th grade. In High School I joined Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Friday Morning Bible Study and Joyful Ringers.
Being involved in all these things helps me to remember that God is always there. All of these activities have one thing in common. They all teach you that living God’s word isn’t just a once or twice a week thing. Living God’s word is a lifestyle and what a great life it is.
