Every Sunday when I walk into my classroom at Zion, a sense of peace comes over me. No matter what kind of morning I was having before I got there, a smile is embedded on my face, my feet are a little lighter and my mind is free.
As I watch each little face come through the door my heart brightens as I get to hear each one tell me what they did all week. Watching the kids sing, you can feel the love pouring from them. During story time their wisdom of what they know about God makes a grown person chuckle, yet it is their vision and their thoughts. Watching each child doing their best to create the best artwork they have ever made and how excited they are when they get to hand it to their mom, dad, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, or even a Sunday School teacher is truly watching the innocence of these children. It reminds me what God wants from all of us—love for each other, peace, and happiness.
These are the moments that I remember when I am down. I feel so honored to be part of these kids’ lives. They have all made a difference in my life.
