Music and Pasta

Tom & Karen have been married for 21 years, and have 3 daughters, all confirmed at Zion. Karen works as a bookkeeper at Crown Plaza in Plymouth, and Tom as a low voltage electrician.

Karen and Tom first got involved in serving Wednesday suppers at Zion when their daughters were in confirmation and the family was eating at church most Wednesdays. Now they are team leads of the Pasta team, a team that is unique in that many of the members also serve together on the First Sunday worship team.

Wednesday night supper provides an opportunity for people to get to know one another and it can be a free or low cost meal to someone in the community with limited resources. It has always felt like something very worthwhile to do. We enjoy seeing our friends who make up the team and talking to people we don’t get to see very often.

Both Karen and Tom are involved in music. Karen is a member of both Zion’s Senior Choir, and the Wright County Community Choir, and, Tom plays guitar in the First Sunday worship team. Tom also likes to play and coach soccer, and serves on the board of the Buffalo Soccer Club.

The Pasta Team next serves on Wednesday, January 15.
