Kathy and Glenn began attending Zion with their daughter, Krista Ross, and granddaughters. They have been part of a Bible study and plan to become members in the fall.
Her husband had to work Sunday mornings and she didn’t want to come alone, so we joined her a few times. Then we started to come whenever our granddaughters sang on Sunday mornings and finally began attending every Sunday.
We saw [Rick Johnson’s Bible study] in the bulletin and, since Glenn had been reading the Old Testament, it sounded interesting. I liked that we read the Bible out loud (just like in school)! Doing that made you read every word and not skip over the hard ones. It made me pay attention to things I might have missed.
This year, Kathy also helped with data entry during Zion’s SERVE Weekend and occasionally comes in to the office during the week to continue with the project.
I’ve always loved typing (one of my favorite jobs was data entry and report typing) and working with records is interesting.
In the next few years the Carlsons plan to move to Buffalo and then hope to get involved in more Zion ministries.
We thoroughly enjoy Zion and the people we’ve met. It seems like a good church to belong to.
Kathy and Glenn live in Plymouth and have three other grown and married children and one other grandson. Kathy worked as a secretary until her third child was 6 months old, then became a full-time stay-at-home mom. She loves to read and enjoys arts and crafts like painting, cross-stitch, and card making.
