Thanksgiving

It’s an annual tradition! If you’re ready to bring gift bags to a few Zion members and share a short visit with them, check your calendar for availability between November 17-25.  Visitors arrange a time of their choice to bring the gift bags to Zion members at their home, apartment, or care center to bring a bit of cheer during the Thanksgiving season. This fall, gift bags will be delivered without in house visits, but visits by phone are encouraged before or after the gift delivery. Thank you to members of the Rebecca and Naomi Circles for doing many of these deliveries. The gifts will be packaged by Zion’s Women’s Ministry and will be available to pick up in the office by Tuesday, November 17. Contact Sherilyn if you’re interested in visiting.

Thanksgiving
The annual Community Festival of Praise and Thanksgiving hosted by Buffalo faith communities will premiere online on Wednesday, November 25, at 7pm. This year, you can invite your neighbors, friends, and family to attend this service of thanks no matter where they are through a virtual online link instead of coming to the Zion sanctuary. While indoor events would be limited in attendance, this online link will allow everyone to watch this Thanksgiving gift of scripture, prayer and music.

Watch on Facebook link will be here    Watch on Youtube    Online Bulletin

This festival that year after year has brought the community together will continue even when we are physically distanced. This community festival is truly a faith-filled experience for all families, prepared by the Buffalo Ministerial Association and musicians from local churches.

Pastors from the Buffalo area churches join to give leadership to this community‑wide time of worship. Vocal ensembles, handbell ensembles, soloists, organ, worship teams, and instrumentalists will contribute anthems of thanks and praise for an online service that can be heard and viewed anytime following its premiere on Thanksgiving Eve.

Each year the Buffalo Ministerial Association receives an offering to benefit those in our community who are in need of a helping hand and a sign of hope. This year, in light of the ongoing pandemic and in order to allow your gifts to get to those who need them quickly, you’re invited to give directly to one or more of the following organizations that we partner with:
  • Buffalo Food Shelf: Give online by PayPal at buffalofoodshelf.com/donate or send your check to: Buffalo Food Shelf, P.O. Box 222, Buffalo, MN 55313.
  • Love INC-Big Woods: Give online by Credit Card at givemn.org/donate/Love-In-The-Name-Of-Christ-Big-Woods or send your check to: Love INC, P.O. Box 368, Buffalo, MN 55313.
  • Salvation Army: Please direct your giving for local Salvation Army relief by making a gift to Love INC (see above) and using the “Dedication” option for online giving or writing “Salvation Army” on the memo line of your check.
