Outdoor Projects Continue

wednesday morning crew cleaning up brush

The Wednesday morning workers continue to meet during the COVID-19 slowdown. We are only doing outdoor projects and maintaining our distance from each other to minimize the chance of spreading the virus. We are always looking for more volunteers to help. We send out an email on Monday to let everyone know what kind of project will be done and where to meet so that members can wear appropriate clothing and bring a tool if needed. The group than meets at 9am on Wednesday mornings and does the project for 2-3 hours.

A few of the projects recently completed include removal of large dead trees and branches and brush on the north side of the north parking lot, a prescribed burn of the prairie area to the east of the church, installation of drain tile to direct rain runoff from the storage and Blessing Closet buildings, and installation of rain gutters on the Blessing Closet building. Future projects are endless and include window repair and painting at Marysville church, buckthorn removal on the properties, refreshing the mulch around the trees, installation of drain tile on the front lawn to direct the rain runoff from the main church building, and maintenance and care at both the Zion and Marysville cemeteries.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Melissa Galvin (Facilities Manager) at facilities@zionbuffalo.org or call 763.682.1245 ext 123 to get your name on the email list.
