Patience

I became a member of Zion five years ago, when Roger retired from the ministry and we moved to Buffalo to be closer to our grandchildren. We were drawn here by the dedication and love shown by Zion’s members, staff, and pastors. I have been involved with Women’s Ministry, 4th Sunday Welcome Crew, Mission Jamaica, Bible studies and Circle, Harvest of Hands, and the Blessing Closet.

My faith journey began with my baptism as an infant and continues to grow. My favorite verse is John 14:27, which is also my Confirmation verse.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.

Many people have inspired my faith growth throughout my life, but the greatest has been from my husband with his love of Jesus and his dedication to sharing the Gospel. My favorite Zion moment was hearing Pastor Ted say that “you will never look into the eyes of someone God doesn’t love.”

I feel that we show our feelings about God by the way we treat people in his image. I’m serving on Zion’s Call Committee because I genuinely care about this church and I feel that my experience in this process can be helpful. Everyone on this committee is dedicated to finding a Pastor of Congregational Life. This search has taught us patience and perseverance. Please continue to pray for the Call Committee for discernment and guidance from God.
