“Renewing our House ~ for Worship” is the theme of Zion’s effort to renew and update our Sanctuary and the campaign to raise the funds needed. $38,000 has already been raised and earmarked for the project which is estimated to cost about $77,000. A capital campaign will be underway from Sunday, February 28, to Sunday, April 11. Members will receive a letter in the mail about the project, asking that you contribute a little extra during this time.
The project includes replacement of all of the carpet in the Sanctuary and the choir area, changing out the carpet on the altar platform with luxury vinyl tile, changing the upholstery on all the pews and choir chairs, painting the north wall of the Sanctuary, and painting the door and window trim around the Sanctuary. A generous donor paid for a professional interior designer to develop the design along with a group of Zion members. The colors and material chosen are on display in the narthex.
Any amount will help, but here is an idea of how your contribution will impact the project.
- $500 re-upholsters a pew
- $50 re-upholsters a chair
- $10 buys a carpet square
- $5 buys a tile square
Contributions can be made by mailing or dropping off an extra check at Zion. Checks should be made out to Zion Lutheran Church and noted on the memo line for the “Sanctuary Renewal Project,” or online through InFellowship (choose “Sanctuary Redesign Capital Campaign 2021” drop down).
With a little extra from all the members of Zion, we hope to complete the project this year. Help us “Renew our House ~ for Worship.”
