Angie is Zion’s newest employee, and will be working alongside Kirsten Kelly for approximately five hours per week as the CFM Office Assistant.
She loves Zion’s 8:30 worship service because it is similar to the traditional style of worship in the WELS (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod) congregation where she grew up.
I loved youth group! During my junior high years we were at a very small start up church so there were about six of us. We did confirmation classes at our pastor’s house in one year and did lots of activities like camping, skiing and other outdoor stuff.
Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 23.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long.
I have carried a piece of paper with it typed on it in my wallet for over 20 years and also have it as my home screen on my phone. Whether I am having a good or bad day that verse always reminds me God is with me and makes me smile.
Angie has been attending Zion for about two years.
I was looking for a church where I would be able to relate or grow from the sermons. Many of the sermons do that and I even share special ones with others.
Last spring I took the LifeKeys class, and learned that I really needed to be on the lookout for signs that God is calling me for service. When Marsha called and asked me to be a teacher I knew He was calling. Last fall I started teaching Sunday school and began working more closely with Kirsten, Kristen and Marsha. I was blown away at how they work so hard to reach kids and just how genuine they are. I try to volunteer every chance I can now. When I saw that Kirsten needed an assistant, I knew He was calling again.
Angie has been married to John for 23 years and they have three children.
JP, our 22-year-old Marine; Eric, our 20-year-old college baseball player; and Abbie, our 6-year-old perpetually happy girl.
Angie also works from home for a company that does background investigations on prospective clients.
