Director of Handbells

My duties at Zion include …

  • Curating the music, liturgy, scripture, prayer, and people that make worship possible at Zion.
  • Directing the Joyful Ringers and co-directing Ring Forth and Class Ring.
  • Being one of Zion’s organists.

I’ve worked at Zion since …

1992, I think….

My favorite thing about working at Zion is …

Amazing, creative people who either volunteer endless hours of time or work as staff in the building at all hours! It’s a beehive of activity sometimes and it’s all done as God’s hands in service and thankfulness.

My Family …

Andrew & I had an empty nest until Tillie, the Sheltie joined the household. Our children are thankfully within driving distance for visits: Amanda & Ben; Michael & Kiki.

When I’m not at Zion, you can find me…

At home, near a piano or a set of handbells, near a puzzle or a book and a cup of Good Earth tea.

My favorite hymn …

For this year, it’s ELW 808: Lord Jesus, You Shall Be My Song as I Journey

Something you might not know about me …

I enjoy baking Scandinavian treats from my Johnson/Sorensen ancestors especially at Christmas time: Lucia rolls, krumkake, lefse, kransekake
