During the month of July, Zion will say thank you and goodbye to our Director of Children and Family Ministries , Kirsten Kelly. We are going to miss Kirsten’s leadership in children’s ministry at Zion. So much good ministry has happened in the last 5+ years with her as Zion’s Director of Children and Family Ministries. She helped us build on the great ministry we had and moved us to new heights. She has been an example of Christ’s love for us all and has helped us grow in our own faith, regardless of age. Her commitment to building relationships with parents, kids and families has led to a solid foundation for faith formation at Zion and the community.
Zion has been blessed in so many different ways by Kirsten. Her captivating children’s messages have been enjoyable for children of all ages and have taught us so much. Her organized and energetic leadership of VBS has seen hundreds of children and volunteers experience the word of God in brand new ways. Ministry to the whole family has lead to the growth of events such as Trunk or Treat, First Communion preparation and Good Friday Cross crafts. If Kirsten’s hand was in an event, we as a congregation would know it would be well organized, theologically sound and maybe most important, a place where memories would be made. These examples just scratch the surface of Kirsten’s impact on Zion and all who have entered our doors.
Join us to celebrate Kirsten’s ministry among us on Sunday, July 22. We will say thank you, goodbye and share memories. We give thanks for Kirsten and pray for God’s leading in her new endeavors. Kirsten-we pray you will continue to experience the love of God in your life as you have helped so many at Zion to experience.
